Supporting College Student Governors Summer Course

June 12, 2012

sparqs has been working with NUS Scotland to train college student governors since 2009. This year we are broadening that support to make sure that student officers are not only supported in their role as a board member but are also able to engage with the regionalisation agenda. We have also taken the opportunity to redesign the training to support the wider officer team to be able to engage with quality enhancement and learning and teaching issues.

We will be running the summer course on Friday the 29th and Saturday the 30th June 2012 at NUS Scotland’s offices in Edinburgh. It is important that newly elected officers attend this event as it will help ensure they are able to participate in what will be a very busy year in colleges from the start of their term in office. To find out more information about the event please visit: http://www.sparqs.ac.uk/training/section.php?cat=108

We will also be running a similar event on 18th and 19th October 2012 for those officers not yet elected, followed by an additional day on 20th October to bring together those officers who attended the summer training with the October participants to undertake our innovative simulation exercise set within a fictitious college scenario.
